Hennessey Venom F5 – What comes after the hyper car?
Hennessey Performance Engineering recently announced the Venom F5, a mind blowing hyper car even by today’s lofty standards. With a curb weight of less than 3,000 pounds and a twin-turbo V8 producing over 1,600 horsepower, the Venom F5 is pushing even the hyper car envelope (did mega cars ever become a thing?) .
In a grab for world’s fastest car, the F5 is said to push 300+ miles per hour at the top end. Getting there though seems like most of the fun – Hennessey Performance claims that you should be hitting 186mph in 10 seconds, and 249mph in 20 seconds. Unlike its predecessor (the Venom GT), the F5 utilizes a purpose built carbon fiber monocoque. This should hypothetically translate into better all-around track performance compared to the GT.
Hennessey really outdid themselves with the aero on this one as well. We’ve heard the body is even more aerodynamically efficient than Bugatti’s Chiron. Inside that slippery exterior is a relatively luxurious interior with Alcantara upholstery and carbon fiber accents. A centrally mounted iPad takes care of multimedia and HVAC controls.
With only 24 units planned for production, you had better get in line quickly. That is if you don’t mind the $1.6 million base price. Oh, up to $600k in options await you as well.
